About Pater Youssef Ibrahim

I came across the monk Youssef Ibrahim in an ARTE documentary. He was describing, that the Islamic State was in visible distance to his monastery. He was asked the question if Iraq still exists for him, which he answered with “No, just by name!”
This statement made me wonder and I spent two days inside the monastry. The monks have been great hosts, we ate together and Pater Youssef was showing me around, described his experiences and shared his opinion on the terror, that faced him.
